Newsletter and campaign signups

When you ask to receive updates from The Port, we collect the email address you provide, the time and version of your consent, and limited campaign information such as the signup page and UTM source, medium, campaign, content, or term. Campaign forms may also ask for optional information such as your name, city, interests, or event intent.

We use this information to maintain the signup record you requested, understand which outreach brought people to The Port, manage confirmation and unsubscribe requests, and send updates after an email delivery provider is configured. This site stores signups in WordPress; email delivery is not active yet.

Consent and age

The signup is intended for adults and for parents or guardians acting on behalf of their household. We do not knowingly use this form to collect information directly from children under 13. Submitting the form records your agreement to receive email updates. Email consent does not include consent to text messages.

Security and abuse prevention

The Port limits repeated signup attempts to protect the form from abuse. A short-lived one-way fingerprint may be used for that limit; the lead record does not store a raw IP address. No security measure can guarantee absolute protection.

Website analytics and cookies

The Port uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the website, including pages viewed, interactions, general device and browser information, referral or campaign information, and approximate location derived by the analytics service. The site uses its own privacy controls with Google Consent Mode to apply your cookie preferences; analytics storage is denied by default and is enabled only when you allow analytics cookies.

You can review or change your cookie choices through the site’s cookie controls. Google processes analytics data under its own privacy terms. Learn more at Google’s Business Data Responsibility information.

Sharing and delivery services

The Port does not sell signup information. If an email delivery provider is connected later, only the information needed to deliver and manage the requested messages will be shared with that provider. This notice should be updated to name that provider before delivery is activated.

Retention, unsubscribe, export, and deletion

Signup records are kept while they are needed to provide the requested updates and maintain consent or unsubscribe history. Every delivered marketing email must include an unsubscribe method. You may also ask the site administrator for a copy of your signup information or for deletion through WordPress’s privacy-request process, subject to information that must be retained for legal, security, or administrative reasons.

Changes to this notice

The consent version stored with each signup identifies the notice in effect when that request was made. This page must be reviewed and updated before production launch, when an email provider is selected, or when collection practices change.
